After consulting with French people I decided to change my route. I planned to take a train to La Rochelle on the Atlantic then bike 50 miles South to Royan. I got my ticket with 3 train changes, but found the second train did not allow bicycles. I was kicked off and sent back to Tours. While some people are real sticklers for rules, some people were very helpful. Because of the delay i decided to go straight to Royan. Here's my bike on the train.
Royan is a darling French beach town.
